LILI LEA ABRAHAM
| PRODUCTION DESIGNER

HELLO. My name is Lili.
I am a production designer based in London.
I was born in Hungary, so rumour has it that my mother tongue is a language spoken by aliens.

I get much inspiration from Transcendental Meditation.
But I also like Wong kar - Wai ( before he was cool) Adam Curtis, photography, Cassavetes, colours, textures, Mogul Mowgli, Deborah Lewy, Andrea Dworking, poetry, Johann Johannsson's IBM1401A User's Manual, practical lighting, faces and hands, Werner Hertzog's voice and determination, and the flow of natural light on walls.

A strong minded german grandmother, a cemetery researcher mother, and 8 years of gymnastics school certainly influenced my work ethic and endurance. At 13 I studied at a high school specialised in film-making. Little I knew, I would had to sit through every film by Bela Tarr in the first year. This is when and where I realised that film can be art.
In 2010 I moved to London, and in 2014 I graduated at the University of the Arts, LCC, specialising in production design.

My recent art director credits include Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things and Bugonia. Andrea Arnold's Bird, Ken Loach's The Old Oak ,and Thomas Hardiman's Medusa Deluxe.
Amongst many others, I production designed BAFTA nominated and Academy Award short listed Wale short film. Aesthetica winner O' Glory! ,and British Film Designer's Guild award winning Catch a Butcher short film.

Two Neighbors, the first feature film I production designed in 2023 and was directed by Ondine Vinao is in main competition at Edinburgh International Film Festival.
My second feature film as a production designed is called 'The End of it' a directed by Maria Martinez Bayona and is in post production. It is starring Rebecca Hall, Noomi Repace, Gael Garcia Bernal and Beanie Feldstein and it is going to be a sick, intelligent , funny and beatiful film.

I am a Berlinale Talent Alumni, a Screenskills Art Department Trainee Scheme Alumni, a Warner Bros. Creative Talent Alumni, a BAFTA Connect Member, a 27th Times Cinema Alumni, a BAFTA Crew Alumni; and I wish I could get badges for all of these because I could decorate a cool wall tapestry with them.

I love working on exciting and meaningful scripts and brief, regardless of format.
